Pincurl Girls make front page of the Lincoln Journal Star 402 Section!

I loved waking up, running to Starbucks to get my tall soy, no water, extra hot chai and the edition of the LJS! I knew it was being published on Monday so I could barely keep my smiling in control at the register. I sat down and quickly opened to the section and I was awe struck! It was a huge article with a huge photo of me, in my studio!! I am very thankful for Erin and the LJS to research and publish my story.

Loosing my self-confidence in graduate school was the hardest and the most rewarding personal struggle of my life. Read my whole story here:

The sweetest gift you can give yourself for Valentine's Day is believing in yourself!

Valentine's Day can be hard for some of us. We tend to look to others to show us love and affection. When that love and attention isn't there it can feel like a lonely day. I want to turn 2011 Valentine's Day into a day to look inside ourselves for that love and kindness.

Try some of these ideas this year to brighten your day:

• Paint your nails different shades of pink and red polish, then sprinkle on glitter before they dry.

• Make a list of things you admire about yourself and post to your bathroom mirror.

• Make yourself laugh by being a dork in front of a friend or family member.

•  Mail yourself a card and write in it all the things that make you feel good about yourself.

•  Create a scrapbook or journal of all the great things you have accomplished this past year.

•  Step outside your comfort zone and try something new, like a dance class or book club.

•  Invite your close friends over to make a batch of the cutest cupcakes with lots of frosting and sprinkles.

• Turn a wooden dowel into a magic wand by painting and adding glitter then start making all your wishes come true.

•  Design a t-shirt that says “(your name) rocks!”

The "I Believe in Myself" Project peeks into Jamie Ridler's journal.

About the project: I asked Jamie Ridler to wear a set of "I Believe in Myself" bracelets and journal about what positive thoughts she had about herself. Let's see what she has to say! Thanks Jamie!

Bio: Jamie Ridler - creative living coach and director of Jamie Ridler Studios.
Jamie's Bio: At Jamie Ridler Studios, I help people find the confidence and courage to discover and express their creative spirit, whether that means exploring their artistic self or bringing more of their creative capacity to their life and to their business.

I Believe In Myself: What a treat to spend a day focused on believing in myself! In the morning I thought, "Today's the day!" and put on my 12 bracelets, ready to go! Every time I faced a challenge or got something done, I stopped and took the time to say "Yay me!" and celebrate who I am. When I decided to ask my friends if they'd like to play along by writing some things they liked about me in my journal, that took courage - and so I moved one bracelet and journaled "I am brave!" I'm so glad I was brave because when I read my friends' words, they warmed my heart and made me feel like I was on the right path, doing the right kind of work in the world. And now I have those words and my "I Believe in Myself" journal pages to remind me of what I'm capable of and to inspire me on all my adventures! Awesome!

Art Picnic Ladies: I thought I'd include a picture of  my Art Picnic ladies (unfortunately they couldn't all be there!) They're all  beaming and highlighting the bracelets! Left to right: Kim Sedwick, Amy  Sedgwick,  Danette Relic, Chris Kay Fraser .  And absent, Jennifer Hicks.
